Professional Technical and Production - Level 4

This pioneering, one-year fast track into employment course has been specifically designed to provide you with the essential skills, knowledge and understanding that are necessary to work within the production arts sector. 

You will gain first-hand experience of the operational processes of live events in a range of creative and cultural venues.

You will work on a variety of different projects, with the aim of developing a range of transferable technical skills and an understanding of how the creative industry works.

Applicants will need a Level 3 qualification (A-level equivalent) together with GCSEs graded A* - C in English and Maths. 

A strong work ethic and a keen interest in technical and backstage careers are also required.

Assistant Stage Manager

The Assistant Stage Manager assists the Stage Manager with meetings, running rehearsals, clerical organisation and making sure that productions and performances run smoothly. 

Senior Stage Technician

A Senior Stage Technician is responsible for sourcing materials and equipment for productions, as well as supervising the installation and dismantling of equipment and overseeing the safe operation of special equipment during rehearsals and performances.   

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of a project from conception to completion. They  control budgets, resources, set timescales and complete risk assessments in order to ensure that the project is completed on time and in budget

Events Manager

An Events Manager oversees the planning and execution of events. They control budgets, resources, set timescales and complete risk assessments in order to ensure that an event takes place on time and in budget. 

Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that the logistics of a live event, tour or production runs smoothly

Sales and Hire Account Handlers

Sales and Hire Account Handlers are responsible for managing sales and the hire of equipment and services.

Automation Technician

Operating under the direction of the Technical Management Team, an Automation Technician will provide specialist support for the constriction, rehearsal, presentation and removal of mechanised equipment for a live performance.

Funding

Level 4 Technical and Production Diploma

  • Age 16-18 £0.00 
  • Age 19+ £5421 - Cost if paying via Advanced Learner Loan
  • Age 19+ £5746 - Cost if Self-Funding 

Students aged 16-18 at the start of the academic year in which they are joining us will be exempt from paying tuition fees.

Students 19 and over may be eligible for funding or support with fees. This will be discussed at interview stage but if you would like further information, please email info@creativeindustries.ac.uk

Advanced Learner Loans are available to students aged 19 or over to help pay fees for approved courses between Level 3 and Level 6. Repayments only begin once you have completed your course and are earning more than £21,000 per year.
