Head of New Talent, BBC Academy

Claire oversees the recruitment and training of around 200 apprentices, 140 graduate level trainees and 1,200 work placements at the BBC. She is currently leading the pan industry BBC Academy ‘Make It Digital’ Traineeship, aimed at training up to 5,000 young unemployed people in 60 locations around the UK.

Claire began her career as a radio presenter and, at 25, was the BBC’s youngest ever radio station editor when she launched what is now BBC Southern Counties Radio. Her wide-ranging career has seen her project manage the overall launch of the BBC’s suite of digital radio networks as well as ensure that the BBC’s television programmes meet the highest editorial standards.
