Apprenticeship Incentives

There are a number of financial incentives on offer to employers who are recruiting and training apprentices.

An incentive payment of £1000 is available to any employer taking on an apprentice aged 16-18 (or aged 19-24 with an Education Health and Care plan or care leaver). Payments are made via the training provider and passed on to the employer: £500 after month three and £500 after month twelve.

In addition to this incentive, the Government has recently announced new incentive payments to encourage job creation for young people following the Coronavirus crisis. For six months, from the start of August 2020 until January 31, 2021, an additional payment of £2,000 will be made to employers who recruit an apprentice aged 16-24, and £1,500 for those aged 25+ .
