Justin Farndale

Assessor

Justin has lit and operated productions in the West End and around the world and helped to develop performer flying systems at the Millennium Dome, now the O2.

I have worked in theatre and live events for the past 25 years. In that time I have witnessed the evolution that has required technicians and designers to adapt if they are to continue to be employable in the entertainment industry. Technicians of the future must be familiar with diagnostic process, be proficient in creating 3D visualisations that can be presented to clients as well as contributing to the creative outcome of the production.

What advice would you give to students?

Intrinsic curiosity is fundamental to a successful career in technical production.
