Chileleko Osazuwa

Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice

“I chose to study here because I believe that it will give me access to the creative industry.”

Chileleko Osazuwa, who is studying for a Level 4 Diploma in Technical and Production, had an outstanding opportunity to work on a charity single commemorating Labour MP Jo Cox, who died in 2016

The single, a cover of You Can’t Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones, was produced in both audio and video formats by National College Creative Industries' students. It was performed by the parliamentary rock band MP4 and the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus, who were joined by several other MPs.

She said: “I really enjoyed filming for the Jo Cox project and working with the Thurrock community choir, Members of Parliament and other high profile clients.

“I love The Backstage Centre facilities, from the aesthetics to its practicalities. You are able to feel comfortable and still work hard within that environment. I have personally made use of the various rooms and space available and will continue to do so.”

Before joining the National College Creative Industries, Chileleko worked on several projects, alongside being part of a dance group and studying drama and theatre studies.

“I also work on producing different videos, and releasing them weekly on my YouTube channel. I would love to go on to direct, produce, write and perform in plays and films."
