Our Partner - South Essex College

A highly successful regional provider of further and higher education, and delivery partner for college-based training on behalf of NCCIL.

South Essex College (SEC) was originally founded in 1899 and is a successful large provider of further and higher education located over three main sites in Basildon, Southend-on-Sea and Grays in Essex. It serves more than 10,000 learners a year.

SEC has a long-standing track record of delivering high quality, inclusive education and training in the creative and cultural sector. It has a close association with High House Production Park in Purfleet where the college’s higher education provision, the University Centre South Essex, currently delivers a UAL accredited degree in Costume Construction in collaboration with the Royal Opera House. SEC will deliver the specialist backstage training offered at The Backstage centre, under the National College Creative Industries partnership.

It will also take over the ownership and management of The Backstage Centre and the corporate relationships that come with this to ensure that students receive a really great, hands on experience while studying at the college.
